Due to some extreme temperatures across the country, we strongly advise all shipping orders to go Fedex 2nd day air to avoid damage to your order. If you choose not to ship 2nd day, we will ship during weather permitting times. This could mean that your shipment will be postponed for a month or longer until temperatures warm back up. From Dai and P.K. Crisp's home vineyard site in Wren Oregon, just outside of Corvallis in the Coast Range (Dai manages Temperance Hill Vineyard and makes his own wines under the "Lumos" label) comes one of our most sought after micro-cuvees of white wine every year, the Bergstrom Wines "Wren Vineyard" Sauvignon Blanc. Less than 4 barrels are produced of this wine on an annual basis as this vineyard is prone to spring frosts and yields are kept very low to ripen before the fall rains.
The 2009 Sauvignon Blanc smells of complex citrus notes such as verbena, Meyer lemon, lemon-grass, citrus pith and blossom as well as a distinct mineral component (think wet slate). This wine is refreshingly juicy with its citrus and stone-fruit flavors, with an ample mouth-feel and great vibrancy.
The Sauvignon Blanc is a natural accompaniment to goat-cheese, springtime salads, and makes the perfect aperitif wine while you are lighting the barbecue on a beautiful spring evening. Get this one while it lasts! Serve slightly chilled (not cold) and decanting is recommended to open up these youthfully tight aromatics. Enjoy!
