2008 was an incredible year for Oregon wines, both red and white, and for the first time ever, Bergstrom is releasing a late harvest Riesling in Uber-small quantities. This fruit was left on the vine until late into the year, allowing the noble rot of Botrytis to make these small concentrated clusters even sweeter.
Only two barrels of this wine were produced!
The aromatic profile is very typical of a botrytized wine but has great elegance and balance without seeming heavy. The aromas are fresh with pear and spiced cream and dessert pastry (Tarte-Tatin in a glass?) This wine will be a great accompaniment for desserts as well as pairing with aperitif appetizers such as Foie Gras. The great balance between the high acid and the rich sweetness will allow this wine to age very well.
Drink now until 2025.
This wine is bottled in 375ml format bottles.
