2007 was a great year for white wines! A very long and cool year allowed us to pick our white wine grapes into November with crisp vibrant acidity levels, gorgeous aromatic profiles, low alcohol levels and a juicy core of fruity texture, making these wines great food wines now and huge potential for ageability. The Dr. Bergstrom Riesling comes from three old vine vineyards: Hyland (planted in 1971) Chehalem Mountain Vineyard (planted in 1970) and Cherry Grove Vineyard (unknown planting date but definitely older than 25 years.) These vineyards offer up crisp and clean Germanic style Rieslings that, when blended together, bring out the best Oregon has to offer. Fermented in stainless steel over a 5 month period, this wine has a pale white gold color. The wine exhibits a perfume of white stone fruits, citrus, white fruit flowers and fresh minerality character. The mouthfeel is bright and rich at the same time with focused citrus and melon flavors framed by racy acidity and a crisp finish. Very Kabinett in ripeness, this wine should drink well for the next 4-5 years. Also available in 375ml format. 850 cases produced.
